L is for Late (and Lighthouses)

Welcome to Day 12 of the Blogging A-Z April Challenge!

Each day in April (except Sundays) I will be posting here, and the posts will be in alphabetical order!  And because I have a wide variety of interests, this blog will live up to it's name.  Totally random and mostly unrelated topics. And lots of pics!

For some shameless self-promotion, I have 2 other blogs in the challenge, too.  Check them out!
Maple Grove Cemetery - Halloween related, but don't worry - no gore.
The Life of Lisa - weight loss / health related.

There are just a couple lighthouses in Michigan
If you click on the that link, you'll see a pdf document with a map from Michigan.gov and the names of all 124 lighthouses in this lovely state.

Last summer, we made a trip to the U.P. and got to visit a couple lighthouses, then.  They are stunning!

 Fort Iroquois

 Whitefish Point
(where the bell of the Edmund Fitzgerald is located, in the Shipwreck Museum)

 McGulpin Lighthouse

Old Mackinaw Point

We are hoping to drive along Michigan's west coast this summer,
which means we'll get to see more!  I can't wait!

  1. All that lighthouse-y goodness! So lovely. Our federal government in Canada is busy shutting down lighthouses to save money, and it's so sad--not to mention unsafe.

    1. That's sad. They have so much history and are so picturesque.

Out of the ones I posted here, Whitefish Point was the only one we didn't go up into, only because my daughter & her friend were both wearing flip-flops and they weren't allowed on the narrow & twisty stairs. Of course we had to pay admission to go into them.

Leave a note - they make me feel loved!
