"Z" hair band songs - #atozchallenge

My Theme

Don't be hating on me that these guys aren't truly "hair metal" but they're a rock band and they have a lot of hair and most importantly,  play awesome music.  So I'll use some artistic license and feature them for my Z post.

Neener neener.

"X" hair band songs - #atozchallenge

My Theme

I'm using some artistic license here.  I did find 1 "X" song that fits my theme, but then I opted to switch to a band that's close enough!

Let's put the X in Sex
by : Kiss
1988
album : Let's put the X in Sex

Now I'm switching over to eXtreme!
Get The Funk Out
1990
album : Extreme II : Pornograffiti

Hole Hearted
1990
album : Extreme II ; Pornograffiti

This was the very first song I did karaoke to - in what was considered a "country" bar in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf back in my Navy days.  I sang with some guy off a destroyer that had pulled into port while I was working at the airport "beach det" from the Lincoln.
More Than Words

Weigh In Wednesday!

So.  I was only down 0.2 lbs at my meeting last night, but I consider that a huge victory!

Ya see, last weekend Miss Angela's dance team was at a competition.  We have a thing where most of the parents sign up to bring food to share.  That means basically a 2 day buffet of not-always-the-healthiest choices sitting there - staring at me all weekend.
On the table to the left is the giant box of Tim Horton's Timbits and to the right is PB&J & white bread, hotdogs, pizza, chicken nuggets, and hooray!  A veggie tray with hummus!

Saturday was OK.  We stopped at Timmy's on the way in for coffee & turkey sausage / egg whites on an English muffin  Angel didn't dance so I only stuck around to see the little girls' solos, then left.  I went home & mowed the back yard and made the traditional night-before-comp spaghetti for Angel.  Then took a nice nap and went back to watch the teens do their solos (and take Angel her "pasghetti").

Sunday was a different story.  A stop at Dunkin' Donuts this time (Gasp, I cheated on Timmy!) for coffee & a turkey sausage flatbread.  (just know that donuts did happen even if I didn't mention them!)  Angel had all 6 of her dances, (post on the comp coming soon - I'm waiting to get access to the photos & videos - the photographer was excellent!) so I was there all day with her.  So yeah - the food.

I was quite happy that there was a drinking fountain in the hall between our storage closet dressing room and the auditorium, so I was able to keep my water bottle filled up all day.

Saturday, thanks to mowing the lawn,  I had over 10K steps in and Sunday I only had 7K (my Fitbit goal) but 22 flights of stairs! That's probably accurate since we quickly discovered the best view of the stage for the groups was way up in the back of the auditorium.  So we'd go in to watch the girls dance, then back out to the dressing room to help out with costumes changes & hair.

Yesterday, my family was picking on me.   Randy posted this on Facebook,
Then later, Angel sent me this text!
Meanies.
I LoOoOoVvVvVvE Tim Horton's - they have the best donuts & sandwiches & coffee & everything.  And they're are 3 within a mile of my work.  Way too convenient!

Moving on.  I don't think I'll be going to Zumba tonight.  I've been having quick, sharp little pains shooting thru my knee off & on since I got up this morning and I don't want to aggravate it.  Plus I have a ton of stuff I need to get done around the house.  I still have ALL the Easter decorations sitting on the kitchen table, ready to be packed back in the totes.

AND, we'll be bringing our new addition home this weekend!  I'm going out to my sister's house to get her barn cat, Rusty and bring him home!  Actually, he's going to the vet first to get checked out & vaccinated, THEN he's coming home!

How about a chuckle?  I've felt like this too many times!

Useless trivia - Kip Winger has studied classical music and has written several classical symphonic pieces for ballets as recently as 2016.   And in a couple of the videos I've posted in this challenge, he can do pirouettes with his bass guitar that would make the girls on my daughter's dance team jealous!

It's Friday - FINALLY! (and belated Easter post)

I've been messed up with days all week!

With Easter last weekend and getting ready to spend it at my sister's house, I didn't get to link up with the lovely Miss Flynnigan last Friday for my Happy Post. So this'll be an All - Encomapssing Post.

Last week was my boss's birthday. Our new accounting girl had her aunt make this cake for him - it was huge! (the phrase "ass-kisser" may have been whispered a time or two)
It's didn't pass the vehicle inspection, but it passed the taste test!

I was really excited to get this ginormous box in the mail,
My own personal customs inspector checked it out.

I heard thru the grapevine that Home Depot had their full-size horse skeletons back in stock so I had to order it! I ordered it on a Saturday & got it Tuesday!
I believe in planning ahead & taking opportunities when it comes to my Halloween display! Last year they were sold out really quick. I didn't want to risk missing out!

Totally impressed with it - you can look at something and see "life sized" and numerical dimensions, but seeing it in real life is completely different!
Now I have to take it back apart since it takes up a LOT of room in the garage.

Friday night we went to my sister's house for Easter like we usually do. We went out to dinner, then hung out & played games. Have you every played "the Game of Things"? OMG - it's hilarious!

Saturday, Randy had to leave to go play radio with some guys for the Michigan QSO party. They use amateur radio to try to contact all the counties in Michigan. Angel had to leave for dance, then she had to work that night. They both came back out later, but they both missed dinner and coloring eggs.

We had the usual bunch for dinner. Sister Laurie (it was at her house), sister Linda, BIL Dave, niece Catie & her significant other, Charlie, Mom, and me.

Linda, Dave, Catie & Charlie all left that night, so Laurie, Mom & I started a bonfire and sat out there and visited for a nice couple hours.
Sunday, Angel made breakfast & we had our annual Easter egg hunt.
My mom may look like a frail old lady, but you'd best stay out of her way when it comes to hunting eggs! The deck was her turf and she defended it!
Eeek! The Easter bunny!
The Jack Bunny!
The Horse Bunnies!
Total cuteness.
We always joked about casually leaving the door open and "stealing" Laurie's barn cat, Rusty, because he's such a sweetie. Well, she said if we wanted, we could have him! He's such a people-lover that she's afraid he'll walk up to a stranger and they'd pick him up for real.

We've had good luck with 2 other cats we've gotten from her barn, so we think he'll be a good fit and that he will love being an indoor kitty.  I'm going to call the vet later and see about getting him in for vaccinations & such. So we'll probably get him next weekend. Hooray!

He'll never replace Chester, but we know he'll make his own place in our hearts.
And it's nice to know what his personality is regarding food & other cats & dogs.
Daisy is looking at you!
photo cred to Haili since I snagged this off her FB wall

I absolutely love this picture!
This was taken during their pointe class Wednesday, but the doors are the props for the Clue production they're doing this year.  It took me a minute to realize each girl was in "her" door....
Haili / Professor Plum - the purple door
Angel / Miss Peacock - the blue door
Gianna / Miss Scarlett - the red door
Ashley / Miss Green - the green door
Jenna / Col Mustard - the yellow door

We'll be at competition #3 this weekend.  All of Angel's dances are Sunday, so Saturday I'll just stay to watch the little girls' solos and come back later for the teens' solos and final awards.  Then Sunday I'll be there all day.   Her happy butt is there for the duration.

Miss Drama Angel's been wanting me to out her out of her misery.  First her hips hurt.  Then one of her last ear piercings got infected so Wednesday I took her to the clinic for antibiotics.  Then she developed a lump on her neck (probably from the infection, I'm keeping an eye on that).  Then last night she had her first migraine.
Wow.
Maybe she needs to be put in bubble wrap until Sunday morning?

What's up, Wednesday?

"P" hair band songs - #atozchallenge

My Theme

I'm sure this is no surprise to anybody to see this here, but instead of the usual "In the Round" concert video, I've selected the video that was played in the UK.  I like this better since it tells a story instead of just boring ol' concert footage.

And if you look closely in the group of people outside the house, you'll see the guys from Tesla.

Skywatch Friday 4/14/17

Is this really my first Skywatch post of the year??  Wow.  Where have I been??

Anyhooo, I link up with all the good folks over at Skywatch Friday and join with people all over the world who share photos of the glorious sky and views, because....why not?

I confess to having 1000 picutres of the sunrise from the parking lot at work.  That's one of the perks of having an early start-time!  But one day, I wasn't able to make it into work, I saw the sky in my rear-view mirror and had to stop at a park.
I was pretty awe-struck.
Sorry about the lights from the ballpark!
 ...a few minutes later.
When I finally decided I needed to go, pulling back out onto the street.

Why do photos never really do sunrises / sunsets justice???
