#AtoZChallenge - Fence

The main reason I wanted a fence around the cemetery is when there was a problem 2 years in a row of kids angling across the next door neighbor's front yard (she never has her light on) and trudging right smack across the middle of the cemetery.  I have a LOT of extension cords stretched all over the yard, and if I know they're there and can't see them in daylight, a kid intent on candy shuffling thru the leaves at night sure as hell is going to trip over them and possibly get impaled or mess something up.  I saw a lot of tutorials on building beautiful wooden fences, using PVC and wood slats, etc.  I also thought about getting a bunch of old wood pallets to make one.

But I opted to go the easy route.  4 rolls of 2' garden fencing from the local Lowes. A couple pieces of rebar driven into the ground and some zipties = quick & easy, yet effective fence!  No kid has attempted to step over.  And the white makes it easy to see, but doesn't take away from the cemetery at night.
2013 - the light bulb turned on!

This is the beginning and to the right is all open.  No problems from that direction!

It just kind of ends way over there.
But it's far enough to do what it needs to!

Then there's this random little fence that's kind of a playpen for the little guys.
I've used this around individual 'graves' and just here & there.

  1. Sounds like a very useful safety measure - not quite the white picket fence of happily ever after tales, however ;)

    1. Thanks! I really like how it looks, too. It's what the cemetery was missing.

  6. Yeah, having a fence so kids don't impale themselves is a good goal for Halloween. ;)

    Tonight's #azchat was super fun!

See, I thought at first you meant an actual cemetery and... wow. That messed with my head.
But yes, excellent with the decorating and the little fence. Rock on.
