Explore Detroit - A #atozchallenge

Welcome!
My name is Lisa and this is my little corner of the InterWebz! I have a wide variety of interests and normally write about whatever floats my boat at the moment.
Come along with me and explore the beauty & general awesomeness of Detroit, A to Z ! I've chosen some well known, and some not so well known, places and/or landmarks for each letter this month.

I'll start with one of the most prominent objects in the skyline...
completed in 1929, the Ambassador Bridge connects Detroit with Windsor, Ontario.

This is actually a Detroit Free Press photo of the Free Press Marathon that happens the third weekend October every year. Runners wind thru the streets of Detroit, cross the Ambassador Bridge, run thru Windsor, then back thru the Detroit - Windsor Tunnel.
Beautiful shot of the Bridge!

    1. Isn't it pretty? Usually most of the really beautiful views you see of Detroit are taken from Windsor, but this is downriver.

  2. My daughter's law office is in Detroit and within a short distance of the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. I have some shots of it somewhere in my archives. I will enjoy your Detroit theme I know.

  5. Very cool! I didn't realize it was so close to Canada. Gorgeous pictures. The runners remind me of the Golden Gate Bridge runs. Looking forward to the rest of your alpha
