Come along with me and explore the beauty & general awesomeness of Detroit, A to Z !
We have lots of cool places to visit today!
Hockeytown Cafe - because we ARE Hockeytown! I've been here several times. The food is pretty good, but nothing that really stands out as "different" or "amazing". It's typical sports bar / family restaurant food. The decor has a lot of cool old Red Wings memorabilia and a motorcycle in the lobby that's on rollers. And it's only a block from Comerica Park & Ford Field.
Hitsville USA - since Detroit is known for being the home of Motown - this museum is located in the very house that Berry Gordy lived in the early days of Motown Records. You can also visit Studio A, where a lot of the earliest Motown music was recorded.
According to the website, last December they announced a 50,000 sq foot addition to the museum!
Hart Plaza - this is named for late senator Philip Hart and is located in a 14 acre block that is approximately where Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac landed in 1701, founding the settlement that ultimately became Detroit. The fountain is the Horace E Dodge (of automotive fame) & Son Memorial Fountain.
There are 2 amphitheaters located here and in the summertime, there are tons of festivals & concerts.
Hard Rock Cafe - need I say more?
