#AtoZChallenge - RuPaul's DragRace

Hi, Welcome to my little corner of the Interwebz! I'm doing a pretty random theme this year - things that make me happy / are guilty pleasures / whatever makes me... ME!

This falls firmly under the "guilty pleasure" category. Sometime you just need to watch mindless TV. I really don't watch TV on purpose. I'll sometimes watch whatever Spouse happens to have on (and his tastes are even weirder than mine!) but most of the time I will play on my phone or computer. I give full credit to Sister 2 for getting me hooked.

In case you don't know, RuPaul is considered the "most commercially successful drag queen in the US" (thanks, Wikipedia!) and also a model, singer, songwriter, TV personality and actor. It doesn't say it on Wiki, but he's got multiple books out, too.
A man really shouldn't be so gorgeous!

His show RuPaul's Drag Race is on it's 11th season and has had 4 All-Stars seasons.

They bring in a number of "queens" who auditioned and they have a variety of challenges they have to complete, and then walk the runway dressed according to whatever the theme is that week.   Some of the challenges are pretty hilarious!  Then the top queen of the week is announced and the bottom two "lip sync for their life".  The loser "sashays away".
And drag queens have more drama than teenage girls, so there's that, too.

I have my favorite queens from over the seasons that I follow on social media.
No particular reason, I just really liked these guys (gals)!
From season 4 and All Stars 1 and 4
Bob the Drag Queen  the winner of season 8.
I was hoping she'd win as soon as I watched the introduction video.
from season 7 and All Stars 2
from season 10
Sharon Needles  the winner of season 4
and I have several of her songs on my Halloween playlist.
Bianca Del Rio the winner of season 6

  1. I tried RuPaul's Drag Race, but the first episode of the latest "season" on Netflix was apparently in the middle of an ongoing drama? I don't have time or energy to sift through past episodes and figure out what happened. I blame Netflix.
My previous guilty pleasure was America's Next Top Model. Maybe I need to go back to the start of Drag Race.

    1. It's hard to start in the middle of the season when you don't know the dynamics of the group. Some of it is pretty funny and/or ridiculous, tho.

Leave a note - they make me feel loved!
