Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Pppft.
Tomorrow night is my 20 year reunion. I can't believe it's been that long. I sure don't feel like I should be old enough for this event!!!
Randy & I are going. I don't know how long we're going to stay, but we'll make an appearance. The reason I don't really sound enthralled is because there's only a few people I want to see! Thanks to the wonders of Facebook, I do communicate with ~some~ of the 100 or so people I graduated with.
I had actually wrote a long post about how I got picked on & didn't fit in, etc, etc, etc. But I deleted it. I'm not going to play "oh, Woe is Me". Nah. I'm over that.
I joined the Navy after graduation & getting away was the best possible thing for me. By the time I got out after an 8 year enlistment (and visits to some cool places overseas, 2 marriages & divorces, a child) I'd found myself & a healthy dose of confidence. I decided if someone didn't like me for whatever stupid reason - oh freakin' well. Their loss, not mine!
I am happy and content. And I'm married to a great guy and my beautiful daughter is happy, healthy & well adjusted (and popular!!! How did that happen????) I have no complaints. I'm just thankful that I took advantage of being able to broaden my horizons away from that little speck of Oakland County.
I'll be sure to post back with hopefully some pics and good stories!
And how many people can say they got to do things like fly across the Persian Gulf in one of these!!!!
