Years ago, we drove out to Iowa City, Iowa to visit my aunt, now deceased. We arrived right before Memorial Day and drove past a cemetery. It appeared that each grave had an American flag. What a beautiful and awe inspiring sight it was. One of my cousins, daughter of my aunt, lived in the DC area for a while and would participate in similar decoration of Arlington National Cemetery gravesites.
