I don't have a specific item for R. But I do have several ideas!
Road Trips! The Spouse & I (and sometimes the Spawn) have taken many trips that have been very enjoyable.
I was going to link some blog posts, but there's been quite a few! 
This is at the Detroit Zoo, but we did make a trip to Petoskey last year.
