H is for Halloween Garden!

I lurrrvvvve Halloween, so when I saw an article from Dave's Garden about a Halloween garden, I was intrigued.   I'm just going to feature some of the flowers, you can click on the link for the full story.

Cuphea, with little bat faces!

"Black Magic" Rose

Daylily "Halloween Party"

Lilium "Tango Halloween"

Bearded Iris "Black Magic Woman"

Watermelon "Black Magic"

I personally like to have a little Halloween year-round.  So I created what I call a ceme-terrarium!  This sits on my kitchen counter.

I got the old terrarium from the Salvation Army.  I have a small pyramid of Styrofoam underneath, then a layer of larger pebble, and black aquarium stone on top of that.  The faux greenery comes from random old planters also found at the Salvation Army.    The rest of the goodies came from the local plant nursery's fairy garden section!  There are ghosts, jack o'lanterns, headstones, a shovel, a troll, a skeleton, a lantern and I even repainted a cat to look like my beloved Skeeter (RIP) who is chillin' under the bush.
There is a flying pig in there off to the right. Thought he was a fun touch!

  1. I loved the flowers and I also love Halloween. I showed it all to my son and he would like to follow in your footsteps and make the planter with the flying pig in it.

    1. Finding the fairy garden things made it really easy to change up the cemetery as I felt like it. When I made it the first time, I made to stones and such out of Sculpey clay. The options are unlimited- I'd love to see what he comes up with!
